Job 1:1-5

Observations & Interpretations:

v1 blameless and upright who feared God and shunned evil- It is interesting here that there is no contrast to shunning evil in typical terms. This fear that Job demonstrates speaks to a reverence to God that instigates the three mentioned attributes.

v2-3 Job was certainly blessed. His material possessions certainly didn't infringe on the way he revered God. No greed here.

v4-5 In fact he so careful with the entrusted blessings that he assumes complete responsibility for them by making sacrifices for them in the case that they may have cursed God.

Application:
Job being flesh and bones as well as me, I will strive to assume full responsibility of my blessings so that God may be glorified through every facet of my life. Not only will I come before the Lord in humility for all my shortcoming but for those whom with He has blessed me.
